| The CCLAS Mission |
The underlying mission of CCLAS is to improve and protect the lives of Lakewood's pet companion population. Specifically, by providing financial and volunteer resources, CCLAS aids in the adoption of abandoned animals including, but not limited to, cats and dogs, as well as their well being during their stay at the Lakewood Animal Shelter. Further, through fundraising and adoption events, its newsletter and other programs such as the Spay/Neuter program, CCLAS interacts with the Lakewood community to promote education and advocacy regarding the Shelter and responsible pet ownership. This organization is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. "Are you a member of CCLAS yet?"
Becoming a member of CCLAS truly helps the animals of Lakewood. We have many people who aren’t members who volunteer their time and services, and they are greatly appreciated!!! But, by becoming a member, you actually have a say as to how we plan our fundraising events, and then, how to spend the monies we bring in. Click here to download a membership or donation form. Not sure if you paid for 2009-2010 yet, email cclaspromo@yahoo.com. We are in desperate need of families that can foster moms and kittens. On average we need to foster 30-40 animals each year. These animals may be pregnant cats and dogs, mothers and their litters, or orphaned litters. All are in need of a loving home environment until the babies are born, weaned, and of an adoptable age. Food and supplies are provided. If you have room in your home and heart for these litters, please contact us for an application. See our adoption page and blog for the latest information about cats & dogs available for adoption! The Lakewood Animal Shelter is usually at capacity with cats and kittens. Please make it one of your first stops when looking for a new feline companion!
